Tamiflu dosage : |
Treatment of influenza :
- Oral administration (adults and children over 40 kg) : 75 mg of Tamiflu twice daily for 5 days.
- Oral administration (children from 23 to 40 kg) : 60 mg of Tamiflu twice daily.
- Oral administration (children from 15 to 23 kg) : 45 mg twice daily.
- Oral administration (children with weight less than 15 kg and over 1 year) : 30 mg twice daily.
Influenza prevention :
- Oral administration (adults and children over 13 years) : 75 mg of Tamiflu once daily for at least 7 days.

How to administer Tamiflu : |
- Tamiflu (Oseltamivir Phosphate) may be administered with food or milk to minimize gastric irritation.
- Treatment with Tamiflu should be started as soon as possible from the first sign of flu symptoms.
- To prepare Tamiflu oral solution, tap closed bottle to lossen powder.Add total amount of water for constitution and shake closed bottle for 15 seconds.Remove childproof cap and push bottle adaptor into neck of bottle.Close bottle with childproof top tightly, assuring proper seating of bottle adaptor and childproof status.Shake well before use and you should use the solution within 10 days of constitution.

Take Tamiflu (Oseltamivir Phosphate) as soon as influenza symptoms appear and continue to take it as directed, for the full course of therapy, even if you're feeling better.Take missed doses of Tamiflu as soon as remembered unless within 2 hours of next dose.Don't double doses.

Tamiflu may be taken with or without meals.If nausea or vomiting occurs, you can take Tamiflu with food or milk.

Avoid hazardous activities if dizziness occurs.

Stop Tamiflu immediately, and report to prescriber immediately, if skin rash or delirium (child) occurs.

Tamiflu shouldn't be shared with anyone, even if they have the same symptoms.

Tamiflu is not a substitute for a flu shot.You should receive annual flu shot according to immunization guidelines.
